The new mayor of São Paulo, João Doria, has recently “declared war” to the city’s “taggers”. What was once treated only as a simple misdemeanor is being regarded as a much heavier crime by the new mayor. Since he took command of the city, earlier this year, 39 people have already been arrested for this reason – including a son of a Brazilian diplomat.

The measures taken by João Doria have been the subject of discussions and some polemics, since many people support them, but there are a huge number of people who reject them, saying that “this is an exaggeration.”

On today’s episode, we will speak a little about those controversies. In addition to it, we are going to try to explain a little about the urban culture of São Paulo. This brings us to Eduardo Kobra subject. Eduardo is one of the greatest exponents of urban culture in Brazil. He is at the center of the graffiti polemics and has also had some of his works erased recently.
